  • DO YOU WORK THROUGH THE WINTER?
  • WHAT IS ICE DAMMING?
  • WHAT CAN BE DONE TO PREVENT OR CONTROL ICE DAMMING PROBLEMS?
  • WHAT IS SBS DECKBASE?
  • WHAT ABOUT SKYLIGHTS?
  • I HAVE A SATELLITE DISH ON MY ROOF. HOW DO YOU HANDLE THAT?
  • IS YOUR COMPANY INSURED?
  • MY HOUSE HAS BEEN DAMAGED BY WIND. WHAT NOW?

Yes we do work through the winter, weather permitting. We install year round and honour our workmanship. In order to back our own labour, we are sure to only work within the specifications of each products' manufacturers' warranty requirements.

Ice damming occurs when snow on the roof melts from the heat in the house and then freezes over unheated areas, such as the bottom edge of the roof at eaves, attached porches, and garages.

Water leakage occurs when the snow above the ice dam melts or it rains, but the ice below prevents proper drainage creating a backup of water. If enough water collects it will back up under the shingles and leak into the eaves or the house.

Clearing the snow off the roof and breaking up the ice will prevent water infiltration in the house. How we control or prevent water backing up when re-roofing, protection of the eaves is required by applying a waterproof membrane along the eaves and in the valleys.

It is an asphalt/tar based membrane that helps prevent water leakage due to ice dams. Easy to remove, this deckbase is 44 inches wide and comes in 60-foot lengths.

We work hard to keep protrusion areas on your roof – such as skylights – completely sealed and leak-proof. Occasionally we can work with the existing flashing around your skylight, but prefer to always replace these components and install them ourselves for quality purposes. Of course, it is always your choice whether or not to replace your skylight flashing kit or not. We try our very best to educate our customers about the risks of using your existing flashing kit if we feel it isn’t up to our standards. However there are cases where it can still be used. We just like to remind our customers that our labour warranty does not cover installations that we did not originally perform.

We do our best to replace the satellite dishes as we find them. We cannot guarantee that your signal will be the same though. You may be required to call a technician to come and restore the signal. Any fees and related costs to that are your responsibility as the homeowner.

Although we have many years of experienced and are licensed and trained contractors, we have a minimum of $2,000,000.00 liability insurance, protecting our workers and thereby protecting you from any possible liabilities. If an on-the-job accident occurs, you are protected just as we are. All of our workers are WCB-covered. Plus, we take every precaution, as all our workers are certified in fall protection training. What's more, you can rest assured knowing we always have a minimum of one certified first aid worker onsite at all times.

If your roof has been damaged by strong winds or hail, take these steps in order to ensure your full insurance coverage:

  1. Contact your insurance company within 24 hours from the time the damage occurred.
  2. Prepare a list of the damages to your roof (shingles, skylights, chimneys, etc). If it’s possible, take pictures or video of the damage.
  3. An insurance adjuster will then visit your property in order to assess the damages further and determine what replacements are required.
  4. You will then be asked to procure legal documents and write up or fill out others that are required by your insurance company.
  5. A roofing contractor (chosen by you) will perform the installation of replacements specified.
